BESSLER’S TRACKSIDE AUTO DEPOT

AWARDED 2010 JOE KRIER INDIANA QUALITY DEALER OF THE YEAR
The Indiana Independent Automobile Dealers Association is proud to announce BESSLER’S TRACKSIDE AUTO DEPOT of Batesville as our 2010 Joe Krier Quality Dealer of the Year. This award was presented to Doug Bessler at the association’s annual golf outing and awards day which was held on September 12th at Ironwood Golf Club in Fishers. The Quality Dealer of the Year is chosen based on several attributes. The dealership must be consumer oriented, and the dealer must have a record of good business decisions based on honesty and integrity. Also, the dealership must represent themselves as a civic leader within the community Bessler’s Trackside Auto Depot represents all of these attributes.
Doug Bessler took his life-long passion and turned it into a business when he purchased a Batesville dealership in 2000. The dealership became Bessler’s Trackside Auto Depot and is currently celebrating their 10 year anniversary. The Bessler’s Trackside Auto Depot operation includes a 75 car lot and detail shop. Four times a year Doug and the Bessler’s Trackside Auto Depot staff teach Drivers Education students how to buy a pre-owned vehicle and what they should be looking for.
According to Doug, “it’s all about the customer and the experience they have purchasing a vehicle.” That is one reason Bessler’s Trackside Auto Depot has been voted best place to buy a used car or truck EIGHT years in a row. Doug Bessler is a community and civic leader. He has served as President and Board Member of the Batesville area Chamber of Commerce, and Advisory Board Member for the Ripley County CVB. Doug also owns and operates the Sherman House in Batesville which is one of the oldest buildings in Batesville, and a significant landmark in community history. The Sherman House offers bed and breakfast accommodations, private dining rooms, and banquet and meeting room facilities. Doug is continually striving to attain the highest level of customer service at the Sherman House as well as at Bessler’s Trackside Auto Depot. Thanks to continued modernization, the Sherman House has evolved gracefully from its origins as a coaching tavern to the unique and popular hostelry it is today. In 2008 Doug received the Lieutenant Governor’s Hoosier Hospitality Award.
Bessler’s Trackside Auto Depot will represent Indiana at the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association Convention in Las Vegas, June 2011. They will compete with Quality Dealers from other states in the National Quality Dealer Award Program. The primary purpose of the Indiana Independent Automobile Dealers Association is to address legal and legislative issues that confront the used car industry and to promote the businesses of its members while serving the public interest. The Indiana Independent Automobile Dealers Association has supported independent used car dealers in Indiana for more than 23 years. The association is proud to have Bessler’s Trackside Auto Depot as this year’s “Quality Dealer of the Year.”
Congratulations to Bessler’s Trackside Auto Depot!
